Sometimes a lawn just needs to be replaced. For one reason or another, the lawn just looks old or is a hodgepodge mixture of different variety of grasses. Bermuda grass is taking over and has that yellowing and dry brown look. When replacing a lawn, there are two major ways of doing so. You could refresh, amend the soil and lace the area with the desired seeds, however that will require waiting awhile for the lawn to grow and mature. This also requires critical care during the seed germination period. Keeping the seed moist at all times and if you like birds you can watch them chow down on our efforts. If you are looking for a faster solution, you can always have Groundworks sod your lawn.
Sodding a lawn is often jokingly compared to installing a new carpet. Sod may look like carpet, but it is actually a specific blend of grasses with a light loamy soil mix held together by root binders. Sod is grown by commercial farmers and is cut and trucked in for immediate use. As a licensed contractor we are able to obtain the sod at wholesale rates and can therefore pass that saving to our clients. Making the installation more practical for our company to perform.
Groundworks knows that sod cannot just be rolled out on your lawn and left as-is. When sodding your lawn we work with you to pick out the right type of grass as well as handle complete installation. We start the process by clearing the old lawn as well as preparing the soil for the sod. Once the sod has been “rolled out,” our expert gardeners will help tenderly care for your new lawn by watering and making sure the sod takes place and the roots bind to its new home. After a few weeks of monitoring you will have yourself a new lawn!
